Recent Work: Jordan, author of Unholy Sabbath: The Battle of South Mountain in History & Memory, is completing his Ph.D. at Yale University. His dissertation, "Embattled Memories: Union Veterans and Their Unending Civil War," explores the cultural marginalization of Union veterans after the Civil War and the efforts of survivors to come to terms with the meaning of their participation in the conflict.
