Steve James

Associate Professor of Biology

James earned a bachelor's degree in biology from Gettysburg College, a master's degree in botany from the University of Minnesota and a doctorate in cell and developmental biology from the University of Minnesota. From 1989-1992, he was an Anna Fuller Fund postdoctoral fellow at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Recent Work:

James has been awarded several National Science Foundation grants to support his research in the field of genetics. He studies the role of certain genes in controlling DNA replication, particularly a gene called nimO. The study of this process is vital because of its relevance to cancer and other diseases.
