Associate Professor of Psychology

Goubet earned a bachelor's degree in psychology and master's and doctorate degrees in developmental psychology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. She also served as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Geneva, Switzerland.

Recent Work:

Goubet's research focuses on how human infants' early experiences affect their adaptation to their environment. She studies the effects of pain early in life, the role of sensory familiarity in mediating painful experiences in newborns, and more generally memory during the infancy period. She is also interested in olfaction as a window to emotion and cognition in infants and young children.
