New Additions
Several new individuals have joined Enrollment & Educational Services. A number of division veterans have new titles.
Admissions
Associate Director Leigh Anne Redfern was promoted from senior assistant director. She is also communications coordinator. The Colgate University graduate began at the College in 2000. She completed her master's in educational administration at McDaniel College in 2006.
Associate Director Mary Wilkes Smith was promoted from senior assistant director. She began in 2000, the same year she graduated from Gettysburg as a management major.
Associate Director Courtney Wege was promoted from senior assistant director. She is also
campus visit coordinator. She graduated from Gettysburg in 2001 and started the same year.
Assistant
Director Ian Harkness was promoted from
admissions counselor. He started in
2006. He is a 2004 graduate of Gettysburg
College, having majored in history and
political science, and holds an M.S. from Elmira College.
Assistant Director Sarah K. Whitworth was promoted from admissions counselor. She started in 2006. She is a 2002 graduate of Gettysburg. She was in the Teacher Certification Program and majored in English. She holds an M.A. from George Washington University.
Admissions Counselor Agatha Wells graduated from Gettysburg College in 2007. She is also assistant coordinator of communications. She majored in English and minored in both French and history.Newly hired as admissions counselors were 2007 Gettysburg graduates and
Admissions Counselor Lisa Bogdanski graduated from Gettysburg College in 2007. A lso international student coordinator , she majored in political science and minored in women's studies.
Athletics
Head Wrestling Coach Andrew Vogel graduated from Messiah College in 2003 with a B.S. in engineering and served previously as assistant wrestling coach at Wheaton College in Illinois.
Co-head Men's and Women's Tennis Coach and Assistant Men's Soccer Coach Brett Kelly is a 2001 Gettysburg graduate. He was previously our assistant men's and women's tennis coach and assistant men's soccer coach.
Interim Head Softball Coach and Assistant Volleyball Coach Samantha Abrams holds bachelor's and master's degrees from McDaniel College and was last year's assistant softball coach at Gettysburg.
Assistant Field Hockey Coach and Lacrosse Coach Kathryn D. Lange is a 2006 graduate of St. Mary's College of Maryland.
Intern Ryan Anderson graduated in 2007 from Dickinson College and will be active in in football and baseball.
Assistant Women's Basketball Coach and Softball Coach Amy Reed holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Marshall University.
Athletic Trainer Kerry Garret served previously in that position at Carnegie-Mellon University and earned a B.S. at Slippery Rock University and a master's in education at Old Dominion University.
Athletic Trainer Krista Gruhn holds a B.S. from Salisbury University and a master's from The Citadel.
Athletic Trainer Erica Smrzley holds a B.S. from West Chester University and an M.S. from West Virginia University.
Intern and Assistant Women's Soccer Coach Jeremy Spering holds a B.S. from Slippery Rock and an M.S. from James Madison University, where he served as assistant men's soccer coach.
Communications & Public Relations
Sports Information Director Braden Snyder came from Lebanon Valley College, where he served as the sports information director for the last five years. He has also held sports information positions at Bucknell and Towson universities. He is a 2000 graduate of Lebanon Valley, where he earned a bachelor's degree in English communications.
Assistant Director of Sports Information Corey Jewart is a 2004 graduate of Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., where he majored in history and minored in writing, and where he was an assistant in the Sports Information Office during the 2006-07 academic year. He also spent two years as a sports information intern at The College of Wooster in Wooster, Ohio.
Development Writer Sue Baldwin-Way held communications and marketing positions at WITF, Dickinson College, and the College of New Jersey. She earned a B.S. in agricultural science at Rutgers University.
Director of Media Relations Kendra Martin was assistant director of communications. She is in her fourth year at the College. Formerly Kendra Branchick, she gained a new last name when she married Phil Martin this past summer.
Director of Publications and College Editor Jerold Wikoff was director of publications.
Online Content Editor Jim Hale was staff writer. Before coming to the College in 2000, he was a reporter and editor at daily newspapers for 17 years. He holds a B.A. in English and humanities from Valparaiso University in Indiana.
