Happy Holidays and welcome back. This is the second web liaions newsletter which I hope to publish at the start of each semester. My goals for the newsletter are to bring to your attention some of the key events and pieces of information for the semester for web liaisons.

Data
So far this year we have experienced an increase in traffic. Through the end of November we have seen the number of visits to the site increase by 3% as well as an increase of 16% in unique visitors to the site.  On a weekly basis we evaluate web data as it relates to news releases. We are also closely monitoring e-communication opening and click through rates.

Web 2.0
We have begun incorporating web 2.0 technologies to the site. These include rating video content as well as emailing and commenting on news releases. We will continue to incorporate these interactive tools in the months ahead.

This winter new podcasts were added (and are being aded) to the online resources area of the Web Communications website to assist web liaisons. We have gotten good feedback on the podcasts becasue people can play and pause them as they work on the site.
