Arriving at Gettysburg
Congratulations Gettysburg College Class of 2013! We are very excited for your arrival on campus on Wednesday, August 26th, 2009, and I personally look forward to meeting you! Soon we will be in contact with you regarding your registration process (myFirstYear). You will recieve you Class of 2013 packet in the mail sometime at the end of May and the myFirstYear program will open at 10am on Monday, June 8th.
Between 8:00 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. on August 26th, members of the campus community will assist you with moving into your residence hall. This is a great chance to talk to the upperclassmen and faculty about the campus and ask them any questions you may have. Throughout Orientation, you will have the opportunity to gather in your Orientation group, meet your advisor, and have a formal introduction to the town of Gettysburg.
We sincerely hope that you will make the most of your time here in Gettysburg, and take advantage of all of the wonderful opportunities the College has to offer. Throughout your four years, you will find the tools and resources necessary to plan your path to success and ultimately achieve it. The faculty, administration, and the rest of the student body will become part of your new community, and will be available to guide you along this path and to help you overcome any roadblocks along the way. My advice to you is to challenge yourself, be open to new experiences, and to enjoy every minute you spend here-trust me, it flies by. Show your Bullet pride on the field or in the stands, become a published author, or find ways to give back in the community or around the world. Whatever it is you want to be, Gettysburg College can help you be a good one.
Sincerely,Angela Dolson ‘11Student Orientation Coordinator
