Stine Hall

 

Greg Baron

Greg Baron '10 (Orientation Leader) is a rising senior environmental science major from Basking Ridge, NJ.  He is a member of the track team, where he throws the shot put and the javelin, and is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.  Greg is the external vice president of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity as well as a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a service group on campus.  He is interested in pursuing field work in marine ecology, which he studied while he was abroad in the Caribbean.  Greg is excited to meet the new class of Gettysburg College!

 

Kristin Degenhart

 Kristen Degenhart '10 (Orientation Leader) is starting her senior year at Gettysburg, having returned from a Public and Community Health study abroad program in Salvador, Brazil this past spring.  She is originally from Shrewsbury, New Jersey and is a Health Sciences major and Spanish minor.  On campus, she works as a tour guide for the Admissions Office and is involved in various clubs and organizations, including International Club and Colleges Against Cancer.  She has been a First Year Resident Assistant the past two years and will be the Resident Coordinator of Quarry this year.  She is very excited to meet the Class of 2013 and is ready for a great senior year at Gettysburg!

 

 

 

Trish Mullinix

 Trish Mullinix '10 (Residence Coordinator) is a current senior from Frederick, MD. During the Spring '09 semester, she was abroad in Mendoza, Argentina and had the experience of a lifetime. In addition to ResLife, Trish loves volunteering with kids and is a member of Alpha Phi Omega, a co-ed community service organization on campus. She is also a sister in Sigma Sigma Sigma, one of the social sororities on campus. As if that wasn't enough, she is also involved with Dance Ensemble, the campus' largest student-run organization. She is absolutely ecstatic to welcome and get to know Gettysburg's class of 2013!!

 

 

 

Chris Carrier

Chris Carrier '11 (Orientation Leader) is a junior Economics major and Mathematics minor from Fleetwood, Pennsylvania.  On campus, Chris is an officer of Lambda Chi Alpha, a senator for the class of 2011, and a member of the College Life Advisory Committee.  Additionally, he works as a research assistant for the Economics Department, and serves as a tour guide in the Admissions Office.  In his spare time, he enjoys reading, working out, and attending church in town.  In the future, Chris plans to study abroad and would like to attend graduate school to earn his PhD in behavioral economics.

 

 

 

John Carney

 John Carney '12 (Resident Assistant), the Resident Assistant for Stine Hall 2 next year, is from New York City and is a rising sophomore with a declared major in political science. The oldest of his siblings, John is pretty far away from the busy and hectic atmosphere of his hometown but really likes the simpler, slow-pace lifestyle of Gettysburg. Having just experienced his freshman year at the College, John is excited and ready to help the Class of 2013 with their transition into college life. John is heavily involved with campus life and is currently the Chair of Inter-Chapter relations at Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity, a volunteer tour guide for the College, and a member of the Law and Justice Society; in addition he also participated in extracurricular intramurals this past year and hopes to pledge a fraternity during his sophomore year. John hopes to continue to get involved with more extracurricular and volunteer activities, including writing for the school newspaper. John's interests vary greatly and include music, writing, swimming, and politics. New to the Residence Life staff, John hopes to make the transition of the residents of Stine 2 as easy and comfortable as possible.

 

Alexa Mahinka

Alexa Mahinka '10 (Orientation Leader) entered Gettysburg College in the fall of 2006 after graduating from The Bullis School in Potomac, Maryland.   In high school, Alexa was a member of the National Honor Society and lead trumpet player in the school's jazz ensemble and select jazz workshop groups.  As a Gettysburg College student, she is majoring in Art History and minoring in Spanish.  She also works as a tour guide on campus, a sister of Alpha Delta Pi sorority and a member of Campus Activities Board and Dance Ensemble.  She spent her fall 2008 semester abroad in Florence, Italy and loved touring and experiencing the different customs and cultures of various parts of Europe.

Katie Dempster

 Katie Dempster '11 (Resident Assistant) is a junior Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. While she can usually be found around the Science Center in lab or as a lab Teaching Assistant, she is also a member of the Pre-Health Club and Biosphere, the biology focused club. She plays tenor saxophone in the Bullets Marching Band and will be aboard in Denmark for the spring semester.

Steven Stopenski

Stephen Stopenski '10 (Orientation Leader) is a senior at Gettysburg College and a declared Biology major, but is unsure of what his minor might be.  He lives in a small town called Merchanville in South Jersey, which is right outside Philadelphia.  On campus, he competes on the swim team and also plays recreational sports like wiffleball, soccer, and basketball.  He is also active within campus Greek life and the Pre-Health club.

 

Kelly Wehrenberg

 Kelly Wehrenberg '12 (Resident Assistant) is a sophomore and psychology major. She partakes in the dance team and enjoys intramural volleyball. She is a part of BBBS, a tutor group for local elementary students and enjoys working with kids for community service. Kelly enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and camping along with trips through GRAB. She loves to travel and likes new and interesting experiences. She loves icees from the seven eleven, and chocolate always puts a smile on her face.

 

 

Andrew Lee

Andrew Lee '12 (Orientation Leader) is a rising sophomore and intended History/Philosophy double major at Gettysburg College.  He is from Middletown, New Jersey and attended Middletown North High School.  Aside from his involvement as a full-time student at Gettysburg, Andrew is an active surfer, snowboarder, and guitar and bass player.  He also plays baseball, hockey, and recreational basketball.  Andrew looks forward to his next few years at Gettysburg and is especially excited to study abroad.

 

 

Nick Redman

 Nick Redman '12 (Resident Assistant) is a sophomore physics major who is very excited to be working with Residence Life to help guide the Class of 2013 through its first year at Gettysburg College. Nick is currently a senator in the Student Senate, serving on the College Life Advisory Committee. He is also an employee at both the college bookstore and the commons cafe. Nick looks forward to meeting and getting to know his residents.

 

 

Victoria Casterline

Victoria "Tory" Casterline '10 (Orientation Leader) is a senior from Lansdale, PA.  A Psychology major and Spanish minor, she hopes to pursue a PsyD in Clinical Psychology.  She is actively involved in Alpha Phi Omega, Circle K, and other volunteer work on campus.  She loves music and is a sister of Sigma Alpha Iota, the music fraternity on campus.  She wishes all the incoming first year students the best of luck as they enter Gettysburg College!
