Sarah Cardwell '15 - Orientation Coordinator
Hi Everyone!! My name is Sarah Cardwell, and I am very excited to get to know you, the Class of 2018, as the Student Orientation Coordinator! I am a Senior Environmental Studies major from Fort Washington, PA. I just returned from studying abroad in Paris, France, where I spent four months completing a minor in French. Back at the ‘Burg, I serve as the Special Events Chair of the Campus Activities Board. I am also part of the Attic Advisory Board and the Student Conduct Review Board. As an admissions tour guide, I am also privileged to introduce visitors to campus. At the beginning of the summer, I traveled to southwest Colorado with an Environmental Studies professor. We explored the San Juan Mountain range of the Rocky Mountains, studying land use and sustainability. I loved the course– we even got a chance to pan for gold! Unfortunately, I did not strike it rich out west, and returned to Gettysburg. The people on this campus are gold enough for me. A myriad of riches—great friends, interesting classes and exciting activities—await you! One of my favorite Gettysburg Traditions is the First Year walk, I met one of my best friends on my first year walk! Have a fantastic summer and I look forward to your arrival on campus in August!
Elizabeth Berriman '16 - Charting Your Course Coordinator
Hello Class of 2018!! My name is Elizabeth Berriman and I am the Extended Orientation (Charting Your Course) Coordinator for the Office of Residential & First-Year Programs for the Class of 2018. I am a rising junior from Potomac, MD with a major in Health Science and a minor in East Asian Studies. On campus I am also involved in Alpha Phi Omega, the service fraternity, Diversity Peer Educators, D.C. Outfitters through the Center for Public Service, and an employee of the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life. My favorite tradition at Gettysburg is Springfest because everyone hangs out on Stine Lake and celebrates one last weekend before final start. It is a great way to see everyone and have some fun before everyone leaves for the summer. I can’t wait to see all of you on campus in August!
Haya Mohanna '17 - Housing Coordinator
Hello! I’m Haya Mohanna, and I’m so excited to work with the Class of 2018 as the Student Housing Coordinator! I have worked for Residential & First-Year Programs since the beginning of my first year. I’m a rising sophomore from Gaza Strip, Palestine with an Economics major and a Business Minor. I will be an International Student Mentor this coming year and I am so excited to share my experience and challenges with everyone. I am really interested in global matters and I love to travel. I am planning to study abroad in France! I am also planning to check off the first thing on my bucket list this summer which is Skydiving! My favorite tradition is the Thanksgiving dinner. Because I get to set with a big group of my friends and enjoy the company of the staff and the president, plus there is good food!
I am very excited to see you all in the fall!
Justina Molokwu '17 - First-Year Programs Coordinator Assistant
Hey everyone, my name is Justina Molokwu and I can’t wait for the class of 2018 to arrive on campus! I am the Coordinator Assistant for the Office of Residential & First-year Programs. I am a sophomore from Elkridge, MD with a Psychology major and a writing minor. I am a proud member of the Gettysburg College Cheer Squad and I am also the current Diaspora House Leader. I work for the Psychology Department here at Gettysburg as a Research assistant as well as the Office of Experiential Education as a member of the Den Staff (Rock wall). My favorite building on campus is the Intercultural resource center because the couches are so comfortable! After Gettysburg I hope to go to graduate school in England. My favorite tradition would have to be homecoming. Getting to meet all of the alumni of Gettysburg that came before me and learning how the campus has changed and the many ways it has stayed the same is always interesting to me. I hope you all are excited for orientation and I look forward to working with all of you in the coming months.
