These questions and their responses help to explain why your annual philanthropic support of the Gettysburg Fund is crucial to the mission of Gettysburg College.
The Gettysburg Fund is the heart of fund raising for Gettysburg College and a vital component of the College’s operating budget. Parents are motivated by their belief in the College’s work to provide for some of Gettysburg’s most critical needs. Unrestricted funds are essential and have an annual immediate impact on the quality of a Gettysburg education.
Gettysburg Fund gifts have a direct impact on:
Gettysburg tuition covers only 85 percent of our students' total education and 66 percent of all Gettysburg students already pay a reduced tuition thanks to financial aid and scholarships. Financial support from alumni, parents, and friends helps bridge the gap between what each student pays and what it actually costs to provide the distinctly personal education that our students have come to expect.
Absolutely! Gettysburg is grateful to all those who give - each dollar has a direct impact on Gettysburg students. Gifts of every size add up and make a difference. This past year, more than 3000 individual parents and grandparents made a gift to Gettysburg College and 81 percent of these gifts were for $250 or less. Combined, these generous parents and grandparents provided more than $1.05 million dollars for our students.
