Summer Advising Week
June 15th - June 21st
Prior to the start of Summer Advising Week, first-year students will receive an email (via their Gettysburg College email account) with contact information and availability for their Summer Advisor. Students will then be able to contact their Summer Advisors via phone or email (or perhaps even Skype or FaceTime) to receive help with course selection for the fall.
Before you contact your Summer Advisor, review all of the material in the First-Year Advising and Registration Guide and the First-Year Announcement of Courses. Brainstorm a list of potential courses you might take, and be prepared to discuss those courses with your Summer Advisor.
Advisors will be available via email and/or phone. Unless you are going completely off the grid (with absolutely no cellular or landline phone service, or email service), you should be able to contact your summer advisor at some point during the week.
We also utilize Social Media during Summer Advising Week:
Facebook: Like the Class of 2021 Facebook page and post your questions. Upper class students, faculty, and Deans of Academic Advising monitor these posts throughout the week.
Course Registration, June 21st at 9am EST
You should be able to access the Student Center via the internet from anywhere with internet access. If you are going to be unavailable at that time, please make arrangements for a family member or friend to complete your registration for you. Provide that person with your top course choices as well as alternate choices and instructions for how to register.
