Gettysburg Is Volunteering (GIV) Day

Participate in the 24th annual Gettysburg is Volunteering (GIV) Day.  GIV Day is the first opportunity for you to engage in the local community as well as learn about social justice issues while connecting with classmates, upper-class students, and people in the Gettysburg community .  This event is only for students who have previously indicated interest in participating through myFirstYear Dashboard.

Friday Morning Engagement

This is an opportunity for students to relax and interact with some upperclassmen while other students are participating in GIV Day. Representatives from various grade levels and backgrounds will be present in the Attic to mingle with the Class of 2018 and make connections with the first-year students while chatting about their involvement on campus. The Jaeger Center will be open for tours and there will be access to the pool as well as to the climbing and bouldering walls

Citizenship Discussions

Various Locations
These discussions will focus on various aspects of becoming a contributing member of the Gettysburg College Community. Teams of faculty, administrators, and students will lead these discussions. Your First-Year staff will have detailed information about timing and locations. Friday night discussions will focus on Safety of the Community on campus. Saturday discussions will focus on honor & integrity, CYC (Charting Your Course), and student rights and responsibilities.
