For those of you who like to explore, downtown Gettysburg has a lot to offer! On Chambersburg Street you will discover quite a variety of restaurants: The Blue Parrot Bistro, Mamma Ventura, Ernie's Texas Lunch, Thai Classic IV, and The Ragged Edge Coffee Shop.  In addition, two bakeries are located across Washington Street from each other: Wells Family Bakery and Johnny Como's Cupcakes and Coffee Shop.  Just a short distance farther down the street is the Garryowen Irish Pub, Gettysburg's only Irish-owned pub. As you stroll along, be sure to visit all of the unique gift shops that line the street, including The Spirited Ladies Shop and A&A Village Treasures, each offering unique artisan gifts and  jewelry.

Walking down York Street, you will find a distinctive bookstore that has been a fixture in Gettysburg for years, Gallery 30. Gallery 30 has jewelry and crafts for sale, too.

Wander along Baltimore Street and you will come upon Ping's, a Japanese and Chinese restaurant, and Café Saint Amand, a petite Parisian oasis offering crepes and all things French.  To satisy your sweet tooth, Sweet! offers unique and retro candy, toys, and sodas.  For shopping and souvenirs, visit the Union Drummer Boy and the House of Bender.

The center of the downtown area is a circle, known as Lincoln Square!  Home to a Saturday morning farmer's market from late April to November, there are various shops and eateries dotting the circumference. 17 on the Square offers a wine-tasting room, antiques, art, and apples.  Tucked away inside is a small branch of Scott & Co. Fine Jewelers.  The Pub is a favorite of students, parents, and alumni.  Across Carlisle Street is The Gettysburg Hotel, home of Centuries on the Square fine dining and McClellan's Tavern. Next door, Codori's Bavarian Gift Shop will delight everyone with its German giftware and dolls.  Downtown Gettysburg's newest restaurant is located on the circle at 2 Baltimore Street.  The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill offers 15 microbrews and signature Battlefield Burgers.
