Restaurants and Shops
For those of you who like to explore, downtown Gettysburg has a lot to offer! On Chambersburg Street you will discover quite a variety of restaurants: The Blue Parrot Bistro, Mamma Ventura, Ernie's Texas Lunch, Thai Classic IV, and The Ragged Edge Coffee Shop. In addition, two bakeries are located across Washington Street from each other: Wells Family Bakery and Johnny Como's Cupcakes and Coffee Shop. Between the Bakery and The Ragged Edge is Devil's Den Deli, offering hand-tossed pizza and Boar's Head deli items. Just a short distance farther down the street is the Garryowen Irish Pub, Gettysburg's only Irish-owned pub. As you stroll along, be sure to visit all of the unique gift shops that line the street.
Walking down York Street, you will find a unique bookstore that has been a fixture in Gettysburg for years, Gallery 30. Gallery 30 has jewelry and crafts for sale, too. There's a malt shop near the circle to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Wander along Baltimore Street and you will come upon Ping's, a Japanese and Chinese restaurant, and Café Saint Amand, a petite Parisian oasis offering crepes and all things French. For shopping and souvenirs, you can visit the Union Drummer Boy and the House of Bender.
The center of the downtown area is a circle, known as Lincoln Square! Home to a Saturday morning farmer's market from late April to November, there are various shops and eateries dotting the circumference.17 on the Square offers a wine-tasting room, antiques, art, and apples. Tucked away inside is a small branch of Scott & Co. Fine Jewelers. The Pub is a favorite of students, parents, and alumni. Across Carlisle Street is The Gettysburg Hotel, home of Centuries on the Square fine dining and McClellan's Tavern. The Foxxy Moxxy Shop sells lovely handmade gifts and jewelry made by local artisans, as well as artwork by renowned local artist, Bobbi Becker. Next door, Codori's Bavarian Gift Shop will delight everyone with its German giftware and dolls. Downtown Gettysburg's newest restaurant is located on the circle at 2 Baltimore Street. The Blue & Gray Bar & Grill offers 15 microbrews and signature Battlefield Burgers.
