Restaurants and Shops

For those of you who like to explore, downtown Gettysburg has a lot to offer!  On Chambersburg Street you will discover quite a variety of restaurants: The Blue Parrot Bistro, Mamma Ventura's, Ernie's Texas Lunch, Seasons Bakery, The Roman Inn, and The Ragged Edge Coffee Shop.  As you stroll down the street be sure to visit the unique gift shop featuring beautiful handmade jewelry, crafts, and art work by local "Spirited Ladies."

Going down York Street you will find Gettysburg's only bookstore, Gallery 30, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary.  They have jewelry and crafts for sale, too.  Other stores of note include Wentz Stained Glass Studio and Just Jennifer.  There's a malt shop near the circle to satisfy your sweet tooth!

Wander along Baltimore Street and you will come upon Ping's, a Japanese and Chinese restaurant, and Café Saint Amand, a petite Parisian oasis offering crepes and all things French.  For shopping and souvenirs, you can visit the Union Drummer Boy and the House of Bender.

The center of the downtown area is a circle, known as Lincoln Square!  Home to a Saturday morning farmer's market from April to November, there are various shops and eateries dotting the circumference.  17 on the Square offers a wine-tasting room, antiques, art, and apples.  Located inside is a small branch of Scott & Co. Fine Jewelers.  The Pub is a favorite of students, parents, and alumni.  Across Carlisle Street is The Gettysburg Hotel, home of Centuries on the Square fine dining and McClellan's TavernCodori's Bavarian Gift Shop will delight everyone with its German giftware and dolls.  The Plaza is located at the corner of Baltimore Street, where it has been a landmark for many years.
