Philanthropy is an important tradition that has long been a part of Gettysburg College. The cost to educate our students far exceeds the tuition charged, and unrestricted gifts allow Gettysburg to provide the very best educational opportunities and learning experiences to every Gettysburg student.

Parents help uphold this tradition through their yearly gifts to the Parents Fund. The Parents Fund is a special part of the Gettysburg Fund made up of unrestricted, annual support from current parents, grandparents, and parents of alumni.

The Parents Fund touches the lives of every Gettysburg College student and continues to benefit them long after graduation by enhancing the value of their Gettysburg College degree.

The Parents Fund Executive Committee (PFEC) 

 The Parents Fund Executive Committee (PFEC) is the fundraising committee of the Parents Advisory Board (PAB).  Parents have an opportunity serve as volunteers on this committee independent of serving on the Parents Advisory Board.  As a PFEC volunteer, parents work to cultivate gifts to the Gettysburg Parents Fund and raise awareness of the importance of giving for the future development of the college.  If you would like to join the PFEC, please contact the co-chairs, Susan Fee Harper '76 and Bob Harper (P'10) by e-mail at sharper@mtlsd.net  or robert.harper@BIPC.com .  The staff liaison for this committee is Kate Hill and she can be reached in the Office of Development and Alumni and Parent Relations at cseibold@gettysburg.edu or by phone at (717) 337-6809.     

The Cupola Society 

The Cupola Society is the preeminent leadership giving club at Gettysburg College.  Cupola Society members take part in special programs and enjoy close contact with members of the Board of Trustees and the President.  In recognition of their generosity, Cupola Society members are also invited to attend the Cupola Society Celebration each year on campus. 

Anyone who makes a gift to the Parents Fund of at least $1,500 qualifies for Cupola Society membership and recognition. Within the Society there are five levels of recognition, each named for a visionary leader from the College's past.

First Year Send-Offs

As part of welcoming incoming students and families into the Gettysburg College Community, First Year Send-Offs provides the opportunity for them to meet fellow parents, students, and alumni in various locations. These receptions are a time for the Gettysburg College community to share in the excitement of its newest members as they begin their Gettysburg College experience.
