President Will's Commission

I am pleased to announce that our Strategic Plan Steering Committee began their work on Tuesday, September 13. In my charge to this group I noted: If it is to be worth our time and effort, this planning process must not only enable us to address our challenges, it ultimately must inspire us to unprecedented achievements - new levels of excellence - in pursuit of our distinctive educational mission.

 I believe the great work of this group of energetic Gettysburgians will indeed provide us with the inspiration to create an even stronger, more innovative liberal arts experience for our students.
     
 In its first meeting, the committee organized itself and the outlined the work ahead. The committee will be chaired by Trustee Jim Weaver and Provost Dan DeNicola. (Rhonda Good will provide the administrative support for the committee, which is reflected in her new title:  Associate Provost for Strategic Planning.) Over the next several months, the committee will engage in a series of discussions with all college constituencies to identify and prioritize those ideas that hold the most promise for the realization of our ambitious goals. They welcome your ideas and input.
