Accepted Students: Class of 2017

Congratulations on your acceptance to Gettysburg College! We would be happy to speak with you regarding your financial aid award or to review options for financing a Gettysburg education.

Required Steps to Finalize Your Financial Aid Award

Items with an asterisk (*) should be mailed, faxed (717-337-8555) or e-mailed to the Gettysburg College Office of Financial Aid.

Deadline: May 1

You will be notified via email or letter when your financial aid award has been finalized.

What is an IRS Tax Return Transcript?

Once your 2012 taxes are submitted and accepted, a Federal Income Tax Return Transcript can be obtained by contacting the Internal Revenue Service at 1-800-908-9946 or via the IRS website

  • A Tax Return Transcript shows most line items from your tax return (Form 1040, 1040A or 1040EZ) as it was originally filed, including any accompanying forms and schedules.
  • A copy of your Federal Tax Return is NOT an IRS Tax Return Transcript.
  • A Tax Return Transcript cannot be requested until your Federal Tax Return has been received and processed by the IRS.
  • There is no fee to request a Tax Return Transcript. It will be mailed to your home address.
  • When completing your request, use the information for the primary filer, typically the first person listed on tax return.

If you or your parent(s) are not required to file Federal Income Taxes per IRS regulations, please indicate so on the Gettysburg College Verification Worksheet.

Make a copy of parent(s) and student IRS Tax Return Transcripts and mail, fax or email this copy to the Gettysburg College Office of Financial Aid.

Financing Options at Gettysburg College

In addition to need-based financial aid awards and academic merit scholarships, there are many financing options available to students and families at Gettysburg, including an interest-free 10 or 12-month payment plan.

We encourage you to contact your financial aid counselor with any questions as you determine what is best for your family.

Outside Scholarships or Other Aid

Outside scholarships or other forms of financial aid that are not listed on your Financial Aid Award Notification should be reported to the Office of Financial Aid. If necessary, adjustments will be made to a student's financial aid award by reducing self-help (student loans or work-study).

Complete the Outside Scholarship Form.

Renewing Financial Aid

Gettysburg students and families must reapply for need-based financial aid each year by April 15.

Currently, continuing students must only submit the FAFSA. The CSS/Financial Aid PROFILE is not required for continuing students.
