For many students, belonging to a fraternity or sorority is a highlight of their Gettysburg experience. Greek organizations have been part of the campus community fabric for more than 150 years, and the bonds students form as members frequently last a lifetime.
There are 11 fraternities and six sororities at Gettysburg. The fraternities each have their own chapter house, where many members live and where all come to gather and socialize. The sororities don't have separate houses, but each has a chapter room in the College's Ice House apartment complex.
The fraternities and sororities host a variety of social events throughout the year for members and others on campus. They are also involved in many philanthropic and volunteer activities that benefit the College and the surrounding community.
Who Can Join
Students with at least sophomore standing and with a GPA of 2.2 are eligible to join a Greek organization. (Some fraternities and sororities may require a higher GPA.) Students may not be on conduct probation at the time of rush.
