Administrative Assistants

Claire DarchicourtClaire Darchicourt is a music and philosophy double major in the class of 2012 from Catonsville, MD. With a concentration in clarinet, she participates in Gettysburg College Bullets Marching Band, Wind Symphony, and Symphony Orchestra. Claire also sings in the Concert Choir, plays tenor steel pan in the World Percussion Ensemble, and serves as Sergent at Arms of the Gettysburg chapter of Sigma Alpha Iota (International Music Fraternity for Women). In high school, Claire acted as a music departmental aid, overseeing the musical library there as well as performing other clerical duties. As a member of the Gettysburg College band staff, Claire works with PR and band recruitment, and serves as personnel manager of the Wind Symphony.

 

Sara Malloy is a Psychology major with a minor in Art History.  She is a member of the class of 2012 and is from New Fairfield, Connecticut.  Sara plays the flute in the Bullets Marching Band and Symphony Band, and is a proud member of the Gettysburg College Choir.  She also performs with Four Scores, the co-ed a cappella group on campus, and is a member of the college's Jazz Appreciation Society.  In high school, Sara was drum major for her marching band's 2007 season and she sang with her school's chamber singers.  This is Sara's first year working as an administrative assistant on the Gettysburg College Bands staff.
Jessica SchraderJessica Schrader of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is a double major in German and Globalization Studies with a minor in Spanish. She studied abroad in Heidelberg, Germany in the Spring of 2009 and plans to study in Salamanca, Spain before she graduates with the Class of 2011. She plays the flute in the Gettysburg College Symphony Band and the piccolo in the Gettysburg College Bullet Marching Band. She participated in her high school's bands on both the alto saxophone and lead steel drum. She is a proud member of the Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, and this is her third year with the Gettysburg College band staff.

Carin SmithCarin Smith, from King of Prussia, PA is a proud member of the Gettysburg College Class of 2011 and plans to receive a Bachelors of Science in Music Education. Carin's principal instrument is piano; she is in the studio of Dr. Jocelyn Swigger. When not playing the piano, she enjoys singing in the choirs and playing piccolo in the Gettysburg College Bullet Marching Band. She currently performs vocally with Four Scores, the only co-ed a cappella group on-campus. She is also a member of Gettysburg's chapter of MENC, as well as the Jazz Appreciation Society. Carin also enjoys teaching private piano lessons and music theory lessons to students in the Gettysburg Area School District.
 

Equipment and Logistics Managers

Josh CaruthersJosh Caruthers is a mathematics major with a minor in secondary education. He is from Lancaster, PA and a member of the class of 2010. In the past three years, Josh has been an active participant of the Conservatory, playing percussion and singing bass in numerous ensembles. He has performed and held leadership positions in the Marching Band, Symphony Band, Wind Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Concert Choir, and College Choir. While not pursuing a career in music, he enjoys teaching and will take on the role of Percussion Instructor for the 2009 Bullets Marching Band. Josh has worked for the conservatory as an Equipment and Logistics Manager for the past three years.
Michael DeLueMichael DeLue Jr. is an undeclared major student of the class of 2012 from Ephrata, PA. Mike plays Tuba in the Marching Band, Concert Band and Wind Ensemble, and works as an equipment manager for the bands. Playing at various times marching baritone and tuba or working as a sound technician for the band in high school, mike also plays a number of other instruments in his free time including Guitar and Native American Flute. Though not seeking a career in music Mike's hopes for the future include marching Drum Corps in either the DCI, DCA, or DCJ circuits.
