Percussion ensemble to perform Dec. 10

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Contemporary World Percussion Ensemble will perform Dec. 10 at Gettysburg College.

The 8 p.m. performance will take place in Schmucker Hall's Paul Recital located along North Washington Street. The group is directed by Timothy Sestrick and will be performing with Sunderman Conservatory of Music professors Paul Austerlitz and John "Buzz" Jones, as well as K.S. Resmi and N. Scott Robinson. The ensemble will perform two new pieces by Robinson, "Ghanaba Celebration" and "Sankofa," and pieces by Cage and Reich. After the ensemble's performance, Robinson and Resmi will perform several pieces. The event is free and open to the public.

Gettysburg College is a highly selective four-year residential college of liberal arts and sciences with approximately 2,600 students. It is located on a 200-acre campus adjacent to Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania. The college was founded in 1832.
