Faculty Recital with Jeffrey Fahnestock, November 8, 2:30pm
Tenor Jeffrey Fahnestock, Adjunct Assistant Professor of Music, and pianist Michael Matsinko, Professor Emeritus of Music, will present a sixty minute program of songs at 2:30pm on Sunday, November 8, 2009 in Luella Messelman Paul Recital Hall located on the second floor of Schmucker Memorial Hall.
The first half of the program recognizes the birthday anniversaries of Henry Purcell (350 years) with a short Latin cantata on the death of Queen Mary in 1694, of Felix Mendelssohn (200 years) with six settings of the poems of Heinrich Heine, and of Charles T. Griffes (125 years) with his Four Impressions to poems of Oscar Wilde. The second half of the recital features song cycles by Gabriel Faure and Roger Quilter.
