Fall Choral Concert, November 7, 8:00pm
On Saturday, November 7, 8:00pm at Christ Chapel at Gettysburg College, the Sunderman Conservatory will present a Fall Choral Concert, featuring the Gettysburg College Choir, Women's Choir and Camerata, conducted by Robert Natter.
The concert includes a variety of a cappella sacred and secular repertoire. Spirituals include "Great Day!" by Warren Martin and "Joshua Fit the Battle of Jericho" by Marylou India Jackson. Motets include "Ubi Caritas" by Maurice Duruflé, "Jauchzet dem Herrn" by Felix Mendelssohn, and a new setting of "Cantate Domino" by Illinois composer Guy Forbes. The Camerata will perform a set of old and new madrigals by Thomas Morley, John Wilbye, William Hawley, and Orlando di Lasso. The College Choir will sing selections from Samuel Barber's exquisite Reincarnations, including "Mary Hynes" and "The Coolin'." The Women's Choir will perform a set of jazzy pieces that include the Victor Young classic "My Foolish Heart" and "How Do I Love Thee?" by Nathan Christiansen. Please join us.
