Summer Road Trips 2012
Summer Road Trips are half- or full-day site visits to various companies designed to give students an opportunity to learn and gain insight into particular industries/career fields.
Site visits can include:
- Presentation by current professionals in the industry
- Round table discussions
- Tour of the company/organization
- Meeting Gettysburg College Alumni employees
The Center for Career Development organizes a collection of site visits each summer in a variety of locations, which have included Boston, New York, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and more! Students are required to provide their own transportation to and from the site.

Matt Rockstroh, ’87, has a complex career path, holding current positions of Senior VP of Institutional Investments, Regional Director of Mid-Atlantic/Southeast Region and Managing Director of PNC Capital Advisors, LLC. Our visit will include discussions with Portfolio Managers, Fixed Income Traders and Private Wealth Management Investment Advisors. A presentation on the Management Training Program and Team Meeting with the Institutional Investments Group are also on the agenda.

Please join us for a late morning visit to Mad Fox Brewing Company in the Washington, D.C. area! Our host, Bill Madden, '86, is CEO, Executive Brewer, and Entrepreneur. He is eager to share his career path, provide a tour of the restaurant and brewery, and discuss the beer and food industry. Mad Fox Brewing not only brews adult beverages, but also its own root beer.
