In order to help you smoothly transition to life at Gettysburg College, International Student Services offers a comprehensive International Student Orientation that will introduce you to many of the important resources on campus, while making sure you understand the regulations for studying in the US on an F-1 visa. It is also an important time to get to know your fellow international students and adjust to life at Gettysburg College before beginning your classes. For these reasons, International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students. If you are unable to attend the orientation, you will need to make arrangements with Brad Lancaster, Director of International Student Services, to attend a suitable make-up orientation session.
Please plan on arriving at Gettysburg College no later than August 19, 2016, so you can be ready for orientation which begins August 20, 2016.
Transportation Services provides pick-up service for train stations and airports located in Harrisburg PA, Washington DC, and Baltimore MD. If you need to be picked up, please fill out the International Student Arrival Form. You will receive a detailed email from Transportation Services explaining how to meet your driver at the airport. The email will also contain emergency contact phone numbers in case you don’t easily find the driver.
For parents who accompany their children to Gettysburg, we are pleased to offer an International Parents Orientation. The International Parents Orientation takes place at the same time as International Student Orientation, and offers parents an opportunity to get to know the campus, meet key staff and faculty, and get a comprehensive view of what life will be like for their children at Gettysburg College.
We are very happy you are coming to Gettysburg College and are very excited to meet you! If you have any questions, please feel free to email Brad Lancaster.
