Alcohol & Drug Education Programs - Fall 2015

Positive Choices

Counseling Services offers a 4-session group to help students think about their drinking choices.  This is an educational process group, not a therapy group.

Spaces are limited.  Depending on individual circumstances, students may be eligible for point reduction for completing this group.  In this case, students must attend all four sessions, in order, of one group.

Week 1:

What is moderation?  Is it for me?

Week 2:

BAC, counting drinks, setting goals

Week 3:

High risk situations:  What are they and what might help

Week 4:

Self care and stress reduction

Group 1:

SMART Recovery®

Counseling Services offers this confidential support group, as requested.  SMART Recovery ® helps empower individuals to make desired positive behavior changes.  It features practical ways to deal with every day challenges.  While the program supports abstinence, all students who are considering behavior change are welcome.  It is not a 12-step program.  Meetings are free and confidential.  Although this group is not intended primarily for conduct point forgiveness, students may earn point forgiveness each semester in which they attend at least five meetings.

Students interested in joining this support group should email Harriet Marritz at or call Counseling Services at 717-337-6960.
