John Giannini ’12 and Prof. Kurt Andresen publish paper in Biophysical Journal

John Giannini ’12 and Prof.Kurt Andresen published a paper with their George Washington collaborators in Biophysical Journal about their measurements on the clumping of DNA in different solutions.

In our bodies, each one of our cells has 6 feet of DNA packed into a very small space, which is 1 micrometer in diameter or 1/100th the diameter of a human hair. Giannini and Professor Anderson examined the physics behind this packaging and how basic physical processes can describe DNA packing.
