Is the Gettysburg campus open to admissions visitors?
Gettysburg College has temporarily suspended all campus visit events through the end of April, and we will re-evaluate the situation as the date approaches. This decision was made to support the health and well-being of both our visitors and campus community members.
I am an accepted student. How can I learn more about Gettysburg College during this time?

We are so excited to admit you as a member of the Class of 2024 and we want to hear from you! You can call the admission office at 1-800-431-0803 or (717) 337-6100 and a member of the admissions staff will be available to talk with you. You can also email your regional representative or anyone on the admissions staff.

You are regularly receiving information via email about ways in which you can digitally connect with Gettysburg students and faculty. The accepted student website has a growing list of ways to connect with Gettysburg virtually.

We look forward to connecting with you and we want you to ask us anything! Meanwhile, please check out the accepted student website designed especially for the Class of 2024!

I’m planning to attend an admissions event on campus. What should I do?
While Get Acquainted Day will not happen on campus, please stay tuned for more information. The Junior Open Houses have also been canceled. All prospective students should check their emails and the Gettysburg College website for updates. Accepted students can also check their portal. If prospective students need more information, please call the Admissions Office at 1-800-431-0803 or (717) 337-6100.
Will the May 1st decision deadline be moved?
The College plans to be flexible with this date.
Will there be any admitted student days before May 1?
While Get Acquainted Day (scheduled for April 18th) will not happen on campus, we are planning digital opportunities for the entire month of April including the actual day of Get Acquainted Day. There are plenty of opportunities for accepted students and families to connect virtually with Gettysburg College. Accepted students should check their email applicant status portal and also reach out to their regional admissions representative to get more details.
My school has moved to a pass/fail system for the remainder of the year, will this have an effect on my application?
We understand that with the switch to online learning, many high schools have made the decision to transition to a pass/fail grading system for the rest of the semester. This will not have a negative effect on your application during the admissions process. Our admissions staff is dedicated to working with your college counselors to better understand academics at your high school during this time which will inform us on how to properly read your transcript. If prospective students need more information, please call the Admissions Office at 1-800-431-0803 or (717) 337-6100.
How are you handling AP credit transfer during this time?
The College Board is working to adjust AP exams during this time so that students are still able to take them. You can find information on AP exams and how The College Board is adjusting to these changes here. Gettysburg College’s policy on AP credits will remain the same, all students who receive a 4 or a 5 on an AP exam will be able to transfer the credit. If prospective students need more information, please call the Admissions Office at 1-800-431-0803 or (717) 337-6100.
