Become the leader you see in your future.

Women and Leadership explores intersections between gender and leadership in government, business, media, law, politics, science, and athletics. During the semester, participants engage in small group, interactive sessions with practitioners who discuss their career paths and how gender impacts decision-making and leadership in their professional environments. Women and Leadership sessions are designed to address three main pillars: applied leadership theory; self-efficacy and personal autonomy; and networking and personal relationships.
The small group size and lengthy exchanges among students and practitioners allow for meaningful conversations, promote professional networking, and foster opportunities to develop mentoring relationships. Participants are expected to journal throughout the experience and share how the Women and Leadership program influenced their self-perception and what lessons they will apply when they assume positions of leadership.
Women and Leadership is facilitated by Dr. Anne S. Douds , Associate Professor of Public Policy. Prior to joining the Gettysburg College faculty, she was a trial lawyer and a policy consultant. Her trial practice focused largely on civil rights, and her recent consulting work includes court evaluations, veterans’ needs assessments, victim advocacy program evaluations, and social justice advocacy programs.
This program is open to qualified Gettysburg College students from all genders, class years, and majors.
