The Acquisitions Department is responsible for purchasing library materials including books, ebooks, journals, CDs, scores and databases to meet the needs of both students and faculty. Acquisitions also handles the library's materials budget and the processing of gift books and materials.
The Cataloging Department provides access to the materials at Musselman Library in print and online. This includes books, DVDs, CDs, music scores, journals, ebooks, databases, web sites, artifacts, photographs; in fact, every resource available in MUSCAT, the library's online catalog. Any resource acquired by the library comes through our department.
Catalogers enrich MUSCAT with effective descriptions and table of contents, local notes, book covers, links to supplementary resources, and customized call numbers. The department enhances and supports the academic mission of Musselman Library in many important but unseen ways.
The Serials Department organizes and provides access to continuing resources in all formats, including databases, internet resources, regularly published journals, magazines, annual reviews, yearbooks, conference proceedings, and newsletters or bulletins in print, electronic, and microfilm formats.
