Musselman Library Open Access Policy

Open Access Policy – Musselman Library, Gettysburg College

Musselman Library is committed to contributing to a more open system of scholarly publishing. To this end, library employees will:

“Professional activities” include formal publications and conference presentations. Materials in many formats may be shared, including papers, slides, audio, video, images, and more. Other items (lesson plans, reports, etc.) may be contributed if relevant to an audience beyond Musselman Library.

Creators are encouraged to assign a Creative Commons license in order to guide future use of their work. Library employees grant The Cupola a nonexclusive, worldwide license to share their work.

If creators feel that their work cannot or should not be open, they may appeal to the Dean of the Library and/or the Director of Scholarly Communications.

This policy affects all library employees (not including student employees). Student employees may contribute library-related presentations/publications to The Cupola if desired.
