Prof Hancock's tribute to the Gettysburg Address featured in Gettysburg Times

After the Dedication Day ceremony on November 19, history and Africana studies Professor Scott Hancock held a graveside salute to African American soldiers who served in the Civil War. This event was featured in the Gettysburg Times on November 20.

The African American's quest for equality is better 150 years after former President Abraham Lincoln's "Gettysburg Address," according to a Gettysburg College professor, but much work remains undone.

Dr. Scott Hancock, Professor of History and Africana Studies, spoke Tuesday at a graveside salute to veterans of the United States Colored Troops (USCT) in Gettysburg's Soldiers' National Cemetery, organized by local historian Debra McCauslin.
