History Prof. Michael Birkner wrote a piece on a Bergenfield historian for the May 22 Twin-Boro News.
From the Twin-Boro News and NorthJersey.com:
The continuing meltdown of the blue chip New York law firm of Dewey & LeBoeuf, including its bankruptcy and the indictment of the firm’s leaders for cooking the books, has an interesting Bergenfield connection.
Adrian Coulter Leiby (1904-1976), a lifelong borough resident, was a partner of one of the two firms that merged in 2007 into Dewey & LeBoeuf. Leiby, it needs to be said, had nothing to do with the practices of the merged firm that got it in hot water.
