Biology Prof. Ryan Kerney was featured in an Earth Day-related article for his effort to bike to work.

Each year, Commuter Services challenges commuters to try an alternative to driving to work alone during the week of Earth Day. Participants try transit, carpooling, biking, walking, vanpooling and telecommuting. More than 330 commuters participated with a total of 69,115 miles logged in alternative transportation.
Winners were selected from each county within the service area. They are:
Ryan Kerney, a resident of Gettysburg in Adams County, biked to his job at Gettysburg College and logged 48 miles.
