I think that this opportunity to cnomemt has brought me to a place where I look back at a couple of kids I grew up with neighbor/best friend and cousin and take a new view. I never knew their fathers, because they had died before I was born, and I took their absence as a given. The young fathers of Tom Todd (Class of '63) and Bobby Smith (Class of '62) both lost their lives in the service of their country. The sacrifice that they made had a permanent effect of the lives of their wives and sons which leads me to realize that the families of those lost MUST be remembered, as well. These sacrifices are like the pebble that's dropped in a pool the effects radiate out in an ever-widening circle. We should never let ourselves take these losses lightly we should never forget.
