Safety Suggestion Program

Purpose

The purpose of the safety suggestion program is to maintain a safe and productive work environment at Gettysburg College by offering a process through which safety improvements can be identified.

Program Details

Safety suggestions should have a campus wide impact. Safety concerns within your own department/division should be discussed with your supervisor or departmental safety committee.

Selection Process

All suggestions will be received by the Safety Committee chairperson, who will assign each suggestion a number so that members are not influenced by the submitter's name. All suggestions will be reviewed monthly by the loss control subcommittee. Quarterly, the loss control subcommittee will select the top three suggestions. Safety committee members will then vote for the one best suggestion.

If the loss control subcommittee does not select at least three suggestions for consideration within a quarter, any selections chosen will be held until the next quarterly vote.

Award

The winner will receive $50 at either the college bookstore or specialty dining. In the event of a tie, each winner will receive $25 at the college bookstore or specialty dining.

Winners will be notified and will receive their award at the next monthly Safety Committee meeting. Safety committee members are ineligible to receive awards.
