Campus Teaching Partners
It is intended to provide links to organizations and offices on campus that can serve as learning partners for faculty.
- The Garthwait Leadership Center serves as a collaborative hub for leadership development helping students and young alumni recognize their potential for leadership and their responsibility to serve. As a co-curricular program, our primary goal is to enhance student learning through our signature programs and complement the academic experience. We aim to partner with faculty to create outcome-based, customized leadership development experiences in the classroom or during the fourth hour requirement. - Community-Based Learning (CBL)
Community-based learning (CBL) is a pedagogical model that connects classroom-based work with meaningful community involvement and exchange. Within the context of equitable partnership, community organizations and students mutually benefit from the CBL experience both by meeting course objectives and addressing community-identified goals.
The Center for Public Service can help faculty members implement this pedagogy through assistance with partnership development, resources to develop syllabi and ongoing support for community-based activities.
