Budget suggestion form

Please use the Budget Suggestion Form to submit feedback, questions, and/or ideas related to the College’s ongoing discussion around its budget and institutional efficiencies.

Small group discussions

Over the course of the summer and throughout the fall, President Iuliano has hosted small group discussions for faculty. These conversations will continue and will include administrators, support staff, and faculty on a first-come, first-served sign-up basis. The meetings will rotate between faculty and administrators/support staff.

Please email Pam Eisenhart, Senior Administrative Assistant to the President, with the session you are interested in attending.

Engagement opportunities

The College’s November 11 Town Hall served as one of several opportunities for our community to ask questions, share ideas, and offer recommendations related to our budget process. Please participate, as appropriate, in our upcoming budget process engagement opportunities.

Administrator and Support Staff meeting

Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the College Union Building Ballroom and on Zoom at 1 p.m.

Gettysburg College administrators and support staff will meet as a follow up to the budget town hall. There will not be a formal presentation; rather, it is an opportunity to come together with senior leadership to offer suggestions for alternative revenue, things we can stop doing, and ways we can be more efficient.

Given the limited time for Q&A at the budget town hall, the meeting will also provide the forum for administrators and support staff to ask questions. As a reminder, you can submit questions, concerns, and ideas using the Budget Suggestion Form that you would like to have addressed during this meeting. There will also be note cards available at the meeting to anonymously submit ideas.

Faculty meeting

Thursday, November 18, 2021 in the College Union Building Ballroom and on Zoom at 4 p.m.

Gettysburg College faculty will meet as a follow up to the budget town hall. The Faculty Council set an agenda reflecting on the town hall and strategic planning process. There will not be a formal presentation. Instead, the meeting will serve as an opportunity to hear feedback and share ideas.

Budget education presentation

Wednesday, December 8, 2021 in Pennsylvania Hall Lyceum and on Zoom at Noon

Any interested employees are welcome to attend the Budget Education Presentation. The meeting will help to ensure employees have a shared understanding of how the College’s budgeting process works, how the College is funded, and the purpose of an endowment.

All-employee town hall

Date and times TBA. Location will be College Union Building Ballroom and on Zoom.

The town hall will serve as an opportunity to update employees on the budgetary progress.

Divisional discussions

Structured academic and administrative divisional discussions will take place throughout the months of December and January with division heads. These more targeted discussions will provide employees the platform to bring forward budgetary and efficiency recommendations, questions, and concerns related to their areas of responsibility. Each division head will then relay the feedback to the President’s Council for discussion and consideration

Additional inputs

  • Academic: Provost Chris Zappe has invited members of Faculty Council and the faculty who have served on the Structure and Resources Committee (SRC) to meet with him in an advisory capacity. Meetings will be scheduled on an as-needed basis.
  • Staff and administrators can also reach out members of the Administrative Advisory Council (AAC) or the Support Staff Council (SSC) as another channel to raise suggestions and ideas to be relayed to senior leadership.
