Dear Colleagues,
I hope the early weeks of the semester have gone well, even amid this remarkable stretch of frigid temperatures.
As you know, we’ve often come together as an employee community in February. We’ve done so in large part to provide an update on the February Board meeting, which is when the trustees have traditionally set the following year’s budget. That schedule has now changed. To better align with the admissions cycle, the Board has deferred voting on the budget until its May meeting.
As a result, we will adjust the timing of our employee meeting as well. We will now plan to come together sometime after the Board’s May meeting, likely following our Commencement and Reunion weekends.
In the meantime, there is a lot happening on campus and across higher education, underscoring the continued benefit of staying connected and sharing information. For that reason, I have asked the President’s Council to host meetings within their divisions this month to share relevant updates and ensure all administrators and support staff have the space for conversation and questions. I look forward to providing an update to the faculty at an upcoming faculty meeting.
