David Taylor Current Position/Title: Associate Director, Department of Public Safety Gettysburg College Employment Date: July 20, 1984 Previous Work Experience: I have served as a volunteer fire chief for ten years as well as many other volunteer leadership positions in my home town fire company. Formal Training/Certifications: CPR, First Responder, Terrorism Awareness and Prevention Instructor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Authorized Instructor for the 10 and 30 hour employee training, and Handcuffing and Pepper spray certified. Previously Held Positions: Private First Class, Corporal, Sergeant Hobbies: Hunting, NASCAR, Fishing, Camping Family: Live with my wife Rose, son Zachary and daughter Tara in Biglerville, Pennsylvania Why I Came to Work at Gettysburg College?: My grandfather was the college plumber and retired in 1982. He would bring me into the college during the weekends to answer service calls. In 1984, I was looking for a position in the life fire safety area and he suggested working for Public Safety. After a few years in the department, I found it very exciting and rewarding to work with college age students and to have influence on providing a safe environment for the entire college community.
