More information about the use of hotel space during the spring semester will be available in early December. View preliminary housing information for the spring.
To reduce density on campus, some students have been assigned to live in the Gettysburg Hotel during the fall.
Students living in the Gettysburg Hotel will be expected to adhere to the Student Health Agreement and residential rules (including the Student Handbook, Code of Conduct, and Residential Guidebook) as they would on-campus. There will be a Residence Coordinator (RC) and Community Advisors (CAs) living at the hotel to be able to serve as resources for the students living there. Students will also be required to have a meal plan and will also have similar residential amenities including access to laundry machines, WiFi, and parking.
Students living in the hotel will have access to the hotel and their rooms with a key card. Each student will receive their own key card. If it is lost, broken, or damaged, the front desk of the hotel is open 24 hours a day and will be able to assist students. Students who lose their cards repeatedly may incur a charge for replacement.
Students living at the Gettysburg Hotel will have either a microfridge in their room (identical to the ones in many residence hall rooms) or a refrigerator and microwave. There is also a closet available in each room.
Additionally, the hotel rooms are air conditioned and will have complimentary WiFi access. There is a laundry room set up on the first floor of the hotel for students to use. The machines are coin operated, and the front desk has coins available for students to obtain if needed. Students residing in the hotel may also use the common spaces of the hotel to study as long as they are wearing masks and practicing proper physical distancing.
There is a small bike rack available for students to use outside. There is also a large dumpster outside/behind the hotel. All residents of the hotel will need to take their trash and recycling to this location. It should not be left in the hallways or common areas of the hotel.
The parking policy is the same as on campus. Students can choose to park on campus, obtaining a parking permit through DPS. Students may choose to lease a parking spot at the parking garage behind the hotel. This parking garage is owned by the Borough of Gettysburg, so students must arrange this through the borough offices.
Students do not have access to complimentary amenities available for regular hotel guests, such as coffee makers, ironing boards and irons, hairdryers, etc. There is not a TV in the hotel rooms—students must bring their own. The gym and swimming pool at the Hotel will not be open at this time. We will not be offering shuttle services from the hotel to campus due to their close proximity to each other.
Each student living in the Gettysburg Hotel is required to have a meal plan. Students do not have access to any kitchen facilities at the Hotel, but students may obtain food at Starbucks at the Gettysburg Hotel using their Dining $’s and Bullet Bucks.
The College owns the hotel, and the Department of Public Safety (DPS) has jurisdiction over the hotel in the same way that it does other campus properties.
If students have facilities-related problems in their rooms, they should contact the hotel desk. They are available 24 hours a day to assist.
