Orientation Staff

The First-Year Team is comprised of upper-class students who serve in the Office of Residence Life (Resident Assistants) and Student Activities & First-Year Programs (Orientation Leaders).  Resident Assistants (RAs) are upper-class students who have been carefully selected and trained to work in the halls to help residents manage and create a healthy and constructive place to live.  RAs live and work in the halls for the entire academic year.  Orientation Leaders (OLs) serve throughout the summer before your arrival and during the five days of orientation in August.

Our intention of the team pair is to provide you with direct resources in two upper-class students regarding life at Gettysburg - choosing courses, how to get involved on campus, how to find support networks, and how to map out your four-year experience at Gettysburg.  The RAs and OLs are paired together to work with an orientation group, which have about 20 students from each floor and each floor of a building has two groups.  In August, housing assignments will be available.  Check back in this summer to meet your building staff!

Orientation Leaders, Resident Assistants, and many other volunteer members of the Gettysburg College community will greet you on Move-In day, Wednesday, August 26th.  We're looking forward to meeting you and your family!
