Sophia Johnston

S. Johnston

Sophie is a sophomore Birmingham, Alabama who is majoring in chemistry. She runs on the Gettysburg track team, sings in concert choir, and has participated in a number of programs hosted by the Garthwait Leadership Center. In her free time, Sophie enjoys reading, watching Netflix (of course) and spending time outdoors. Sophie looks forward to getting to know all the incoming first-years!

Violla Liu

Z. Liu

Violla is a sophomore from Beijing, China majoring in Environmental Studies. "Cat" is the most important word in her dictionary. Violla is sometimes quiet, but don't take this as arrogance. She just does not understand what you are talking about :) She is very excited to meet the class of 2019 in August!

Terence Simpson

T. Simpson

Terence is a rising sophomore. Aside from doing school work, he enjoys watching sports and hanging with friends. He enjoys the following quote from Aubrey Graham: A quote that inspires him is, "never take advice, that is great advice". Terence takes this to mean that everyone should experience life for themselves and not allow others to discourage them from doing something they want to do. Terence enjoyed his first year and looks forward to the upcoming year at Gettysburg.

Brianna Eagen

B. Eagen

Brianna is a sophomore from Waverly, Pennsylvania. She is in the midst of creating her own major related to business and media. Before coming to Gettysburg, Brianna went to an all-girls boarding school in Virginia. Her favorite place she has ever visited is Senegal, Africa. In her free time, she likes to volunteer in the community, dance, sing, watch movies and play the ukulele. On campus, she can be found working at the CUB Desk, playing frisbee, singing in the choir, and playing the ukulele on Stine Lake.

Sydney Braat

Sydney is a sophomore from Westhampton Beach, New York. She is an English major with a writing concentration and a Spanish minor. She is involved on campus with the Garthwait Leadership Center as a Leadership Mentor, the Communications and Marketing department as an intern, The Mercury as Co-Editor-in-Chief and the Admissions Office as a tour guide.

Jonah is a junior from Hope, NJ studying Theater Arts and Organization and Management Studies. On campus, he works backstage in the theater department, sings in the Concert Choir, serves on the Attic Advisory Board, and enjoys playing intramural soccer and inner-tube water-polo. He was abroad last semester in Nepal, but promises to speak English most of the time.

C.Stine

Cara is a sophomore History and Political Science double major from Severna Park, Maryland. She is involved in Young Life at Gettysburg Area High School and is on the leadership team of DiscipleMakers Christian Fellowship on campus. She also works at Lincoln Elementary as a teacher's assistant. Some of her favorite things are spending time on the Chesapeake Bay, dogs, playing guitar, and dark chocolate. Cara is really excited to be one of Stine 2’s Resident Assistants!

Olga Nynas

Olga is a Psychology major from Finland who is looking forward to getting to know her floor during Orientation. She is a senior whose hobbies include playing cello, exercising, and spending time with friends!

Jessica Alderiso

J. Alderiso

Jessica is a sophomore from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. She is planning to declare a major in Health Sciences and wants to go to medical school. Jessica works in the Theatre Arts Office and participates in shows whenever possible! She is also a member of Upscale, the female A Cappella group on campus, Pre-Health Professions Club, and is the Survivor Chair for Colleges Against Cancer. She is very excited to be apart of Stine Hall's Staff and to meet the class of 2019!

Rick Hale

R. Hale

Rick is a member of the Class of 2018 from Sharon, PA. He is a Mathematical Economics major and is looking towards Pre-Law advising. In addition to this, Rick is also the music director for Gettysburg College's all make a cappella group, Drop the Octave.
