You will gather with the rest of your class in the Chapel for an introduction of the First-Year Walk. After remarks from President Riggs, all students will gather on Stevens Street to begin the walk.

The First-Year Walk
Throughout Town
Become a part of Gettysburg’s tradition as faculty, staff, administrators, students, and community members escort the First-Year class through the streets of historic Gettysburg. This tradition commemorates the same journey taken by college students and community members in 1863 to hear the famous speech by President Lincoln. Along the way, check out some of the wonderful things Gettysburg has to offer. This student-created tradition will celebrate its eleventh year this year.
