GIV Day (Gettysburg Is Volunteering) Ballroom/Various locations throughout town
Participate in the 26th annual Gettysburg is Volunteering (GIV) Day. GIV Day is the first opportunity for you to engage in the local community. Participants will learn about social justice issues while connecting with classmates, upperclass students, and members of the Gettysburg community. In order to participate, students had to indicate interest on myFirstYear Dashboard and attendance will be confirmed via email.
10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Friday Morning Meet and Greet Junction, Jaeger Center
This is an opportunity for students to relax and interact with some upperclassmen while other students are participating in GIV Day. Representatives from various grade levels and backgrounds will be present in the Junction to mingle with the Class of 2020 and make connections with the first-year students while chatting about their involvement on campus. The Jaeger Center will be open: students can complete their fitness center orientation (required in order to use the gym), and the pool and climbing/bouldering walls will be open.
3:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
Living in Our Community
These discussions will focus on important aspects of becoming a successful member of the Gettysburg College community. Teams of faculty, administrators, and students will lead these discussions. Your First-Year Team will have detailed information about time and location for your group.
