The Civil War Institute Summer Conference at Gettysburg College is a four day program held in June. The conference includes lectures, battlefield tours, breakout sessions, and other special activities. The CWI has sponsored this summer conference since 1983.
Scholarships to attend the annual Civil War Institute summer conference are available for high school sophomores and juniors (preference will be given to rising seniors).
A full scholarship covers a shared air-conditioned dorm room, meals for the duration of the conference, and tuition fees. Transportation costs are NOT covered by scholarship funds.
Students who have completed at least one year of U.S. history and have a genuine interest in the Civil War may apply for a scholarship by including the following with their application.

The deadline for application is March 15 at 4:00 p.m. Scholarship recipients will be notified by mail as soon as a decision has been made after March 31st.
The Civil War Institute is sponsoring a scholarship for one Gettysburg College student to attend its annual summer conference. The 2012 Civil War Institute will be held from June 22 - June 26, 2012, and this year's theme is "The Civil War in 1862." Those interested in applying for the scholarship should send the following information to the Civil War Institute, Campus Box 435 or to civilwar@gettysburg.edu.
This scholarship will include tuition, room, and board for the full length of the Institute, and is valued at $785.00. It does NOT include costs associated with transportation to or from the conference. Scholarship applications must be received no later than March 15.
