Study Abroad & Summer Programs

Students abroadStudents at the Sunderman Conservatory of Music have a rich and diverse range of off-campus study opportunities available to them. Overall, more than 50% of the students at Gettysburg College study off campus - and many of these are attending the Conservatory.

  • A considerable number of performance majors have studied abroad at music programs in Vienna, Paris, and Melbourne, and the Conservatory will continue to expand these offerings.
  • Each year, more instrumentalists and vocalists are attending excellent summer music programs in New York, Vermont, and California ... or travelling with their applied instructors to perform in festivals in eastern and central Europe, Spain, and Israel.
  • Others have participated in summer conducting programs in the United States and Europe.

One of the Conservatory’s goals is for every performance major to participate in a summer program at least once during their time at the Conservatory. These hands-on experiences can be among a student's most rewarding Conservatory achievements.
