Test Optional Policy
Strong students who believe that standardized test scores do not accurately reflect the strength of their academic achievements can choose to be considered as test optional in the admissions process. If you choose to apply without standardized test scores, you must indicate so on the Gettysburg College member screen on the Common Application.
International students are strongly encouraged to submit SAT or ACT scores if English is not their first language or if English is not the language of instruction in the classroom. We also highly recommend that home schooled applicants submit standardized testing along with their application.
We accept self-reported scores on the Common Application. Once a student enrolls at Gettysburg College, if they submitted self-reported scores during the application process, we will require official scores to be sent from the testing agency or a school official for verification.
