Anthropology Major Jobs and Graduate School Acceptances

Gwen Michaels

Gwen Michaels '24
Master's in Archaeology, University of Liverpool

An anthropology major and classics and political science double minor, Michaels developed her career path with the support of dedicated faculty and experiential learning opportunities such as studying abroad in Greece. Gettysburg faculty showcased care and understanding as they helped her develop intellectual depth, while attending classes at the Acropolis, taking ferries around the Greek Isles, and exploring European countries outside of Greece provided opportunities to engage with history and culture that ultimately paved the way for a future career in museum studies or academia. “Gettysburg has shaped not just my intellectual interests and pushed me to pursue a graduate degree, but the school has also fostered a commitment to making a change,” Michaels said. “Going forward, I will take what I have learned here to not just advance my studies but to use my knowledge to be a better global citizen.” Michaels will attend the University of Liverpool to pursue a master’s in archaeology with a focus on bioarcheology and human osteoarcheology after graduation.
