International Student Orientation

Students

In order to help you smoothly transition to life at Gettysburg College, International Student Services offers a comprehensive orientation that will introduce you to many of the important resources on campus, while making sure you understand the regulations for studying in the US on an F-1 visa. It is also an important time to get to know your fellow international students and adjust to life at Gettysburg College before beginning your classes. For these reasons, International Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming international students. If you are unable to attend the orientation, you will need to make arrangements with Brad Lancaster, Director of International Student Services, to attend a suitable make-up orientation session.

Please plan on arriving at Gettysburg College no later than August 19, 2022, so you can be ready for International Student Orientation which begins August 20, 2022.

Transportation Services provides pick-up service for train stations and airports located in Harrisburg PA, Washington DC, and Baltimore MD. If you need to be picked up, please fill out the International Student Arrival Form. You will receive a detailed email from Transportation Services explaining how to meet your driver at the airport. The email will also contain emergency contact phone numbers in case you don’t easily find the driver.

Families

For parents and family members who accompany their student to Gettysburg, we are pleased to offer an International Families Orientation. The International Families Orientation takes place during International Student Orientation and offers parents and family members an opportunity to spend time on our campus, meet key staff, and get a comprehensive view of what life will be like for their student at Gettysburg College.

We are very happy that you are coming to Gettysburg College and are very excited to meet you! If you have any questions, please feel free to email Brad Lancaster at blancast@gettysburg.edu.
