SLC Spring Awards Nomination Form

Deadline for nomination submission: Wednesday, February 14, 2024

The Student Life Committee is accepting nominees for Spring awards in recognition of outstanding scholarship, leadership and other activities. These awards will be presented at Spring Honors Day on May 17, 2024. Additional information will be shared once available.

If nominating multiple students for the same award, please do separate nominations.

JOHN M. COLESTOCK STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

The award, contributed by family and friends, is given to the male senior student whose optimism, enthusiasm, and strength of character have provided exceptional leadership in student affairs.


GETTYSBURG COLLEGE STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD

An award is given by the President of the College to the female senior student whose enthusiasm, energy, and contributions in student affairs demonstrate outstanding leadership.


MUHLENBERG GOODWILL PRIZE

A certificate is awarded to a male senior student "for growth during formative years at Gettysburg College in awareness of personal responsibility for the welfare of all peoples; for a degree of achievement in same during college years; and in the hope of future accomplishment for betterment of community, state, and nation."


GETTYSBURG COLLEGE SENIOR PRIZE

A certificate is awarded by the President of the College to a female senior student who exemplifies commitment to community and concern for the welfare of others during the student’s years at Gettysburg College and who shows promise of future accomplishment in support of community, state, and nation.


EDWIN AND LEANDER M. ZIMMERMAN SENIOR PRIZE

The income from a fund is given to the senior whose character, influence on students, and scholarship have contributed most to the welfare of the College.


HENRY W. A. HANSON SCHOLARSHIP AWARD

Created by College alumni in honor of Henry W. A. Hanson, President of Gettysburg College from 1923 to 1952, in recognition of his leadership of and distinguished service to Gettysburg College and to the cause of education in the Lutheran Church and the nation. Awarded to a senior who plans to enter graduate school in preparation for college teaching.


SENIOR SCHOLARSHIP PRIZE

Established by the Class of 1996 and Mr. Robert Stockberger, Class of 1933, this award is presented annually to two juniors advancing to their senior year who best exemplify Gettysburg College through academics (minimum 3.3 GPA) and service to the campus community. In addition, the Senior Scholarship Prize fund shall be augmented with future senior class gifts. Nominated students are invited to attend Fall Honors Day where they will be recognized.
