Requests for scans and digital files
Requests for digital files are considered on a case-by-case basis and will depend on the amount of material requested, known restrictions, and staff time required to complete the request. Many of our digital materials can be downloaded or viewed from GettDigital in a size and format suitable for research purposes. If materials have not been previously digitized, scans or photographs may be provided based on the size and condition of the materials.
Generally there is no charge for reasonable amounts of scanning/photography and digital delivery. Requests to ship physical media may be at the requester's expense. Some requests may require specialized equipment or extensive staff time and cannot be fulfilled.
Use of digital images
Digital images are issued by Special Collections, Musselman Library, Gettysburg College. Images are provided for non-commercial, educational, and personal use only, and are not intended for reproduction or redistribution. For purposes of private study, research and teaching in compliance with fair use, please credit as follows:
[CREATOR] (if known), [TITLE], [DATE] (if known), Special Collections and College Archives, Gettysburg College, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania.
