About the Donor

David R. Johnson, class of 1972, was a physics major at Gettysburg College. After graduating, David earned his M.A. in Physics at the University of Delaware. After a stint teaching high school Physics in Gettysburg, David served as coordinator of Physics and Astronomy labs at the University of Delaware for the remainder of his professional career. His avocation and passion, however, lay with local history—particularly the early history of Lancaster and Adams Counties. Over the years David developed a working relationship with long time Adams County Historical Society Director and Gettysburg College history professor emeritus Charles H. Glatfelter.
